Welcome to the B-SRS website, presented as a service to rosarians everywhere

The B-SRS Rose of the Month for July 2008 is Carding Mill, an English Rose hybridized by David Austin (in the Leander group). The blooms of this rose have a deep apricot center blending to a light yellow edge, a rich myrrh fragrance and over 80 petals. Carding Mill is well suited to the South West Florida climate, is in constant, plentifu bloom all year long.

There is no Bulletin in July or August so the only addtioanl reference will be on the website.
Visit the Rose of the Month in our Gallery of Roses for more about this rose.

The Bradenton-Sarasota Rose Society (B-SRS) was formed as a non-profit educational organization in 1959 and has been serving the needs of Manatee and Sarasota County rose growers ever since.

B-SRS holds monthly meetings, usually on the 4 th Sunday of each month in January through June and in September through December. Dates can vary so be sure to check the B-SRS Events Calendar or e-mail us at info@B-SRS.org .
Each month an educational program is presented and members are able to ask our American Rose Society certified Consulting Rosarians questions about rose gardening, as well as any they have with problems with their plants.

An award winning bulletin (see below) is sent to members in each of the month except July and August. The website provides copies of past bulletins, with full 'google-like' topic search. This, and other referneces are probided in the Member's Menu.
See below for a copy of an image from B-SRS' Rose of the Month, taken from the front page of the latest Bulletin.

Rose Growing Workshops, for all levels, are also offered, and we encourage anyone interested in growing or simply enjoying roses to come and enjoy.

The B-SRS is affiliated with the American Rose Society and the ARS Deep South District.

The B-SRS has close ties with the Ringling Museum Rose Gardens, and our 2008 Rose Show will be again be held in cooperation with the Ringling Museum.
The Ringling Rose Gardens have over 1500 roses including those in the southernmost Test Gardens for both the AARS and the ARS Award of Excellence .
